Remembering Yourself… Staying Awake

Colin Wilson The OutsiderI have been reading Colin Wilson: The Outsider.

Colin Wilson is one of my favorite writers. I started my course of study with him with The Mind Parasites, a science fiction novel, back in 1987.

In the books I have read, Colin Wilson is only interested (really) in a few questions: What does it mean to be a Human Being, and how to accomplish that? What is the purpose of life, and how to fulfill on that purpose?

These are exactly the questions I have been pondering for about 23 years. Doing The Dishes, Kaizen, Boundaries

dirty dishes, kaizen, kabbalahAs difficult as dirty dishes can be, they’re even worse when you let them sit for a while. And the longer they sit, the harder they are to clean.

This is life. Something that is potentially easy to clean up right after it happens – an unkind word to your father, a lie to your best friend, an insensitivity to your girlfriend – can become a difficult mess if you don’t deal with it now.

Do the dishes today.

I have been thinking about Kaizen a lot. Kaizen can be the saving grace for a lot of people, because Kaizen is a way of life, a non-threatening way, but it is an awake way, and m

Crave it to have it, crave it to keep it. Money? love? success?

The Zohar teaches us desire is a vessel that holds the Light. The idea is attaining blessings and good fortune is not enough to keep them. We must also maintain our desire for what we already have.
Not always an easy thing to do seeing as how our habit is to focus on what we don’t have.
Today, get in touch with the desire you first felt when you started studying Kabbalah, or dating your husband, or working at your dream job. Crave your life!

I had something happen today that was an interesting aspect of this same thing.

Diana and I are partners in our quest to create a business that would benefit both of us.

We have created seven projects, and all seven flop

Knowing vs. Certainty

I’ve spent, so far, 20 years in Landmark. (the date of this article is 2008!)

The most important thing I learned there was that all the power for you lies in the part of reality that you don’t know that you don’t know.

Said in another way, the power to alter what is so you can have what you want comes from the part of all-knowledge that you didn’t know that you didn’t know.

They demonstrate the proportions with a pie chart: the whole pie is all that could be known. A thin slice is what you know. Another thin slice is what you don’t know and you know that you don’t know. For example I know I don’t know how to fly. These things you can learn if you have the time, money, etc. But what about the

The Kaizen way of changing… aka Trimtabbing yourself to a full change

In this article I am using an example in which we are starting a new business with the Kaizen way… a business that is going to succeed and more importantly, where growing it causes the owner of the business to grow into the kind of person who can… can make a lot of money, can …

What is the typical reason people don’t do anything with their lives?

success-will-never-be-a-big-stepWhat is the typical reason people don’t do anything with their lives?

That’s a loaded question, but it’s a valid question.

I have done a lot of observation and thinking on this.

I have come to the conclusion that the core issue is stinginess that results in scarcity thinking and scarcity behavior.

I will list a few variations: I am sure that you’ll find yourself…

This is how it goes:

  1. You don’t quite know what you want from your life. So you postpone doing anything until you know… which is never.
  2. You know what you want to achieve, what you want from your life, but there is no path that you can see. You

mental representation of a glass half fullMental Representation… an incredibly useful distinction and an incredibly rare capacity

I loved the book ‘Peak, the new science of expertise’, until almost the very end. Then I got angry.

Somewhere around 90% of the book I noticed that he uses an expression, a phrase, that means something to him, the author, but meant nothing to me.

Now I know how you feel when you read my articles…

The expression he used was “Mental Representation“.

The capacity of accomplishment… the capacity of process

richard branson has the process capacity activatedI have tested every single person who I deal with regularly, and none of them have the “process” capacity turned on.

  • Warren Buffet has it on.
  • Steve Jobs didn’t have it on.
  • Bill Gates has it on.
  • Sir Richard Branson has it on.
  • Frank Kern (marketing genius) has it on.
  • Brandon Burchard (marketing genius) has it on
  • Jeff Walker of Product Launch formula fame has it on.
  • President Obama doesn’t have it on. T
