How to live a life that is an experiment?

How to live a life that is an experiment, so you never get upset, or if you do, not for long.

Yesterday I really didn’t mean to experiment. It was a workshop I have run many times, easy peasy, done and I can go back to doing what I was doing… but no, this is not how it turned out.

In the 3-wishes workshop you can make three wishes. The catch is: they all need to be about money. Stupid thing… but that is how it is going to drive up something.

The idea is that at the first round you only think of yourself… the second round you may think of your community, your country, and in the third round you think of the world.

So that was my expectation when two of my students, both from Canada, incidentally, started off with five million dollars…

I asked what they planned to spend it on, and both said: buy a house. I just checked: a house, on average, cost just over one million dollars.

So I got really agitated. Upset.

  • I threatened one with kicking her out, and she cowed, and said: please don’t.
  • I threatened the second with kicking her out, and she said: It’s OK… I am OK not being in your programs. That snapped me out of it…

I calmed down, and continued the session.

Everyone was upset, by the way. We, humans, love peace and quiet… comfort more than anything. But comfort, as I explained in yesterday’s article, is one of the evil c-words… comfort kills aliveness, comfort kills the spirit.

Anyway, the goal of the exercise is to find out how you feel when you have completed the third wish: got and, at least on paper spent, the big bucks.

Two guys asked for over 300 trillion dollars. For comparison, that is more than twice as much money as all the countries’ gdp production in a year. A lot of money.

Anyway, the women all asked for less money.

The two that started out with five million all restricted their donation to where they live. maybe even to their neighborhood. taking care of a group of people, mentally ill and the second the homeless kids.

I also do these exercises along with the group, but I don’t make my numbers public. This time and last time I didn’t write down any number. I wrote down: no amount of money thrown on the human condition will make any difference. That is how I see it.

My job is to prepare Source to restart humans with the knowledge I have amassed in the past ten years. To get them out of their minds and into reality and into their being.

OK… so so far this is a semi-horror story, so what’s my point in telling you? I am almost sure you don’t care…

…but I had to put it into words, so I can get some clarity?

When people say how they feel about themselves now that they had and spent all that money to do whatever they want to do with it, we get to the point of the exercise.

Because whatever you feel, however you feel about yourself: you are not. It is your missing item.

By the way, if you can take it or leave it: I can’t work with you. Why?

Because only if the pain is overwhelming will you actually get ready to make any changes in your view, in your language, in your attitude.

  • If I were a chef, I’d like you to be hungry.
  • If I taught making money, I’d like you to be hungry, or I’ll waste my time on you.

Unless you are in pain, unless you are suffering, you will be too comfortable and too complacent to do anything about that which causes your misery.

My secret, the secret why I could change and you can’t is that I’ve kept myself from getting comfortable. and I always put myself in situation where unless I change, unless I change my view of reality, I would fail. I did fail a few times, by the way. Often the bar I set for myself has been too high.

And I am keeping this habit up to this day.

As a leader, as a change maker, my job is to stir the pot, to agitate what hurts… so you wake up.

This session yesterday was an example of that.

I don’t need to produce successful results to prove or disprove that there is a blueprint of how to become a human being. What is missing for me to produce successful results is your desperation… I can’t produce that.

The diamond is produced under great pressure, steel under great temperature.

I am just a person… I can’t do it.

You need war, starvation, life threatening circumstances that unless you man up, unless you change who you are being, you perish.

I managed to keep myself on the edge for the past 35 years… but it doesn’t seem other people are willing to even get to the edge.

You, people think this is a hole in one process… and you can do it in a few hours workshops in a week.

Much like you consider everything else… A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Not too much, or it gets hard. Hard? Not going there!

When I tell you that there is nothing wrong with you, you think you got a pass…

what you are not getting is that your behavior is still in a dance with what you see. and what you see is that you need to fix yourself. that you need to align yourself with what others want you to do, to be OK.

How about being OK, and having nothing to fix, and still go for excellence, for production, for integrity, for generosity, for respecting people, not because you have to but because it feels good.

Because now that you are free from the having-to, you can work with the ‘I get-to’ and amount to something.

Becoming self-directed, from the inside out.

I can dream, right?

  • First you need to have enough pain to give you energy to go out of your way to grow
  • Second: you need to have a high enough desire to accomplish something in your life
  • Third: you need to be able to get out of the mind so you’ll see that your current accomplishments are imaginary… not in reality
  • Fourth: you need to experience pain when you see that. A pain that is stronger than the comfortable feeling you have in the cave of your mind

I did a workshop a week or so ago: come out of the mind…

Get out to reality. Use your brain not your mind
