Thanksgiving… if you want to be honest, it is just a meal.

thanksgiving-dinnerWhy would I say something sacra-religious like this?

Because saying what you are grateful only includes what you like.

What about the 99% of your life, of people, of things, that you don’t like, or just barely tolerate?

Can you say: I am grateful for that?

When it is a dark day: can you be grateful for that? When your friend is pushing your buttons: can you be grateful for that? When you feel bad, tired, nauseated, can you be grateful for that?

Yeah, I know, you can say you are, but are you?

You are lying.

Because you only see value where you see value, not everywhere.

And it is almost impossible to please you…

I am not saying you are not gushing gratitude, like vomit… no, especially if you are from California. But it is all fake… and you know it.

This-I-Like-That-I-Don-t-LikeSo you sit down to that table and pretend. And eat. Eat too much, because it numbs you, because it is there, because you don’t have a life, you don’t have much to live fore.

You hate the people around the table, at least most of the time… hell on Earth… right?

The appreciation DNA capacity that on its own accord only turns on at around 300 vibration (which means most of your gurus preaching appreciation are liars too) makes it possible to see value in things you don’t like, don’t want, maybe even fight.

It is an invaluable “tool” because it potentially turns your misery into wonder.

Your family, your children, your parents, your spouse into people who have and provide value… one way or another.

It is hard to love someone who is mostly of no value…

Appreciation DNA capacity makes you able to see the world not only from your selfish interest, but from upon higher… and be able to allow people to have value the way they have value, give value the way they give value.

I have a few friends that allow me to do that, be that, and it is the biggest gift anyone can give to another.

Comes really handy at Thanksgiving Dinner, don’t you think?

The rest of your life is just gravy…
