The four questions…

Humility is the opposite of my soul correction: Forget Thyself.

Every single human, whether they admit it or not, feel above average, and smarter than most everyone… and Forget Thyself is the worst.

It is a daily practice of mine to make myself a learning machine… learn from everyone, including my students.

Humility… it’s actually very hard… you need to give credit where credit is due, and every time, it’s human nature, you experience the marker feelings that come along with comparison: someone is better than me… therefore I must be no good.

And to maintain self-confidence at the same time… really requires the mastery the Playground program promises. Continue reading

What can a one-track pony teach you about yourself?

I have been, I am just noticing, making myself miserable.

What got me out of that direction down to desperation, ultimately, a Carlos Castaneda (( Carlos Castaneda vibration: 200, truth value:10% )) quote:

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same

But, not so obviously, what Carlos Castaneda may be suggesting is that you practice positive thinking, which is a thoughtless practice… makes you really one-track minded. Continue reading

If you find yourself falling back to where you started…

Like any mad scientist, I always keep looking to move closer to the horizon that recedes as I am getting closer to it. It seems I am almost there…

But… there is always some boulder is blocking my way.

So what do you do with that boulder in your way?

My answer is quite counter-cultural. I say: you have that boulder there because you need to get familiar, maybe even intimate with it so it will let you continue on your path.

If you want to change your results in life… or why watching TED talks won’t change your life

…or even reading. Or even having a mentor… or paying thousands of dollars for courses…

Why?

We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are

Which means you only hear/see/read from what you watch, hear or read what you already are.

If you want to change your results in life… you have to change yourself first

To change yourself, you need to change what you see…

Why you are excitement seeker… explained

My notes… if you are inclined to transcribe this episode, I am inclined to trade my products or services with you…

the two brains
curiosity is a right brain phenomena
learning is a left brain

curiosity, when properly awakened, is the spark or the initial much needed step to cause learning.

ignorance is caused by no curiosity.

curiosity is alchemy… needs an alchemist or a master chef… it is rare like a lightening that hits right in the middle of your piled up firewood when you have no match to start a fire.

magic, restriction, secrecy, all the elements of drama that make a thriller a pageturner are the elements to light a fire of curiosity… a hint of something, a little information, a preview…

Why is it that you cannot see the strategy, only the tactic… if even that? If so: What else can’t you see?

Life is a game… a game is something where it is defined what is better than something else.

In golf the ball in the cup is better than outside of it.

In business more profits is better than less.

In love, being loved is better than not to be loved.

Sun Tsu (The Art of War on Wikipedia, read The_Art_Of_War pdf) said:
“All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.”

So the fact that YOU cannot see the strategy is not an exception, it is more like the rule.

In the psychopath segment, was it yesterday? feels like a whole week passed, I am talking about the Jewish strategy for survival of the tribe: education. Deep looking, curiosity, inquiry, diligence, and… not lastly, the principle of marrying a spouse with whom to spawn the next generation… for the survival of the tribe.

If you missed that part, in the video, go back and watch, only three minutes long.

Tactic or strategy… growth or stagnation… even descent… choose!

My notes:
If you feel like you want to transcribe this audio and let me have it, please do so. I’ll appreciate it and you’ll learn ton from it.

The difference between strategy and tactic

strategy: long term, many steps, towards a distant goal. sustainable.
tactic is a step that without a strategy goes nowhere. not sustainable, not scalable.

if you don’t determine where you are and where you want to go, you will only have tactics… short sighted actions that feel good but don’t gel into an overarching strategy

The sticky point is, surprisingly, having to bring clarity to the starting point. Why?

Because of your base context that is always there: there is something wrong here… with you, with them, with it.

so you don’t want to look at that… you just want to fix what feels wrong.

even if you can move, it will bite you in the ass
