The average number of people in any program that actually get the results promised by the program is as low as 1-2%

FULL_ResultsWhat is the paralyzing factor that is responsible for producing such low results in any type of program?

The normal result is 1~2%, and an extraordinarily successful course with lots of handholding can clock a 7% result.

And this result does not see to depend on the amount of schooling people have, or the average IQ…

This afternoon I listened in to a webinar orientation of the marketing course I am taking. As I said, the course is two thousand dollars, ten weeks, and it started yesterday.

Its bulk was answering questions. And the questions were a dead giveaway why people don’t succeed in the courses they take:

You can already see on day two of a 10 week course who is not going to succeed. Who is asking the type of questions that belie their thinking habits…

How do you know if you are growing, or just imagining that you are?

Unsightly-weedsMy homework for the course I am in is to read 200 testimonials to a book in my niche.

My niche is self growth, becoming a human being, being all you can become…

A little vague, I am afraid. But being able to pinpoint what attracts people that say they want to grow is what I want to do… so I have been reading those darned testimonials.

I’ve chosen to only track testimonials to book I have read myself:

Frequency by Penney Peirce (personal vibration: 130)… Truth value 3% and E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality by Pam Grout (personal vibration: 170) truth value between 5 and 8 percent, depending where the reader’s vibration is. ((If you have read e-squared… I have, it has a number or exercises to prove that your thoughts create reality. Half of those examples are actual examples and repeatable, half of those examples are lies. Actual lies. As in fibs, made up, stories… Not true.

I have a student who has lived his life feeling inferior, because in church, in his childhood, every single person seemed to be able to connect to god, but he could not.

The truth is that less than one percent of Christians actually feel they connect to whatever hey call god… the rest would like to… but don’t.

The same is with the prevailing theory that your thoughts create your reality… A great thing to pretend about…

The same is true about the idea that your beliefs hold you back or propel you to greatness. Bah humbug. But tons of “gurus” make a nice living with that… not the least Christie Marie Sheldon… the queen of erasing wrong beliefs.))

water-the-flowersThe readers of both books claim that the books were life-altering.

I have a disappointing news: those books are pretense-fattening at best.

So how do you know if you are growing?

I have shared some of the ways I know I am growing in another article… but it may be personal. So let’s look at something that has unquestionably caused growth, my health consultations.

You see, it is one thing to trust my muscle testing results, that they tell you if you grew or not. It’s quite a different thing to be able to see it.

If you are not growing, your problems remain the same, said in exactly the same way, approached in exactly the same manner.

I remember going back to my ACOA ((Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional families)) meeting four-five months later and the same people sat there and said the same exact things the same exact way as before.

Some of my students repeat the same sentences, same concerns over and over… and I know they aren’t growing.

And other students begin to talk about different issues that come up because they are at a different place in their lives.

Unless what concerns you, what you complain about, what you are dealing with has changed, your efforts haven’t taken you to growth… yet.

If you read or dream about taking a trip, your concerns don’t change. You actually have to have change in your daily life for you to consider that you have grown.

It’s sometimes very subtle, and only other people can see it. Depending on their relationship with you, they’ll be scared, concerned, or rejoice and join you in your growth.

I recommend cultivating the third: it is mighty difficult sticking to your gun in an environment that wants to hold you back.

The first sign of growth is physical: you have more energy, you have more clarity, you have more interest in activities that require your active participation, like reading, like sports.

if you live in a family, these changes are not welcome by the family.

I’ve observed and have even read in a book, that scientific discoveries, substantial achievements favor the younger and single scientists… the unmarried ones mainly. Once they get married, they lose their ambition… it seems, but I think the truth is more sinister than that: the spouse wants to fully own the person and strategically take them away from their work. They monopolize on their energy. For anything useful? No… for mundane stuff.

I call this the chicken coop effect… I learned it in the great book The White Tiger… I have its pdf in the paid subscribers’ area.

The other chickens don’t want you to escape the slavery and comfort of the coop.

Altruism only exists as reciprocal altruism (deals) for the gene possessed, gene directed humanity.

Returning to reading or dreaming about a trip: those books with the high number of positive reviews, in spite of their very low truth value all fall into this category: you make a mental trip, you enjoy it, and you write a review about it… making it sound like you actually took the trip, physically.

In the age of pretense, our age, people believe that other people have something they want, and start pretending that they have it too.

In the Emperor’s New Clothes story happened today, and it is happening, the crowd sees the naked emperor, but they are afraid that they are the only one that can’t see the magnificent clothes… so they say ooh and aah… and eventually start pretending that they have the same clothes too.

The authors of these books are already pretenders… and then they attract an army of second-handers… too stupid to see that they have been duped.

Humanity that believes that your thoughts shape your reality don’t understand reality.

They don’t understand physics.

They don’t understand how things work.

I am not saying that you, they have no power… Oh, no, that is not what I am saying.

What I am saying is that your access to power is not even near to what these books, these pretenders say is…

Unless you have a definite shift in your physical reality, unless you do things differently, or do different things, unless what you complain about changes… you haven’t changed, you haven’t grown.

I read a beautifully worded paragraph yesterday in the book Teach like a Pirate.

Every student in your class in those first few days of the semester is evaluating whether or not your room is an emotionally and psychologically safe environment. They’re wondering if it is worth their time and effort to give school a real shot. After all, it’s easier to not give your best and then blame failure on a lack of effort, than to be forced to realize you really don’t have what it takes. At least you can save face with your peers when you fail if you don’t try in the first place.

In the upcoming Sunday workshop we’ll address this issue… after all every controversy and conflict and contradiction is a tiger to one degree or another.

So we’ll start with the tigers that we can see, and develop methodology to deal with the tigers we can’t even see… so we can keep growing and not be held back by our own or others fear of “escaping the chicken coop”.

Learning new things is hard… what is on the other side of pain?

learning-is-hardI hate to learn new things. I am learning disabled. It’s not an excuse, it’s a fact that is in my way and makes any learning process torturous for me.

Does this mean I don’t learn new things? No.

I am OK with slow. I am OK with the pain. I am OK to move through dark fog to come out on the other end with some clarity.

I always think it is going to be easy, but it never is.

Teachers don’t like me, because they think I am stupid… or that I don’t belong.

But that is their problem.

I am a turtle… and their favorites are hares…

How to grow some balls… at least seemingly

grow-some-balls-2As I have mentioned, I have signed up to an expensive course that teaches a marketing method to pick the right people that are a good match for what I am attempting to do: take a group of people to the level of human being, the next evolutionary level for the species.

Signing up opened a can of worms.

Several daily emails, and a slew of offers, all beyond my need, all beyond my budget.

Today, a week into this campaign, the fifteenth video, the offer is 20 thousand dollars… and I am ready to throw in the towel.

It is like being in a restaurant,

Could you, can you have a great life without ever adding a spiritual capacity to your arsenal?

light-a-fire2Could you, can you have a great life without ever adding a spiritual capacity to your arsenal?

This question has never been asked of me, so I am asking the question, for you, on your behalf.

Because we are starting to see that keeping spiritual capacities on is not the easiest thing to do… unless…

I’ll talk about that unless later on in this article.

So, what is the answer?

The answer is surprising: you can have a great life without ever adding a spiritual capacity.

Self-expression: what is the Self you are expressing? With your life…

comfort-zone-paulo-zerbatoPeople throw around the words: self-expression, but I have never found a person who knows what it means.

Most people look how you express yourself not what it is you express… This article is about “what” not “how”… What is the Self you express with everything… your life, your job, your relationships, with your music, poetry, and your life.

There are two selves, and the reason life doesn’t work for most of us is because the two selves are not connected in any way. Self 1: your genes, your desire to survive and procreate. Self 2: your human desire to be higher than just your genes… to live your higher self.

Self in the expression of the higher self, the evolved self. The self Shakespeare means: To thine own self be true.

Pleasure seeking behavior… or more aptly let’s call it: avoiding pain behavior

illo-brainThere are two kinds of pleasure.

  1. Pleasure that is immediate, impulsive, and requires no or little sustained effort and
  2. Pleasure that is the result of work… sustained effort.

No matter what pleasure you seek, what makes it pleasure is the contrast: there needs to be pain for pleasure to exist. ((Hunger makes food pleasurable… lust makes sex pleasurable… tiredness makes sleep pleasurable…))

Although I could write about pleasure that you earn through hard and sustained work, and I have written hundreds of articles about it, people with too small capacity for pain rarely turn around and become people who want to earn their pleasure.

So in this article I’ll address the pleasure seeking behavior of people, you?, whose pain threshold is very low.

Pain is a discomfort. Most pain is emotional or intellectual, only some are physical.

Are you happy with the results you are getting? Money, happiness, health?

minesweeperAre you happy with the results you are getting?

In your efforts for money, in your efforts for knowledge, in your efforts for happiness, in your efforts for health?

One useful technique that you may try in your case is to invert the usual questions.

What are the usual questions?

How can I…?
Why can’t I…?
What can I do so I…?

everything-in-your-life-is-a-reflection-of-a-choice-you-have-made-if-you-want-a-different-And if you look, there are articles and books and videos telling you how you can, and what you can do, and maybe even why can’t you… occasionally.

But if you notice, all those answers haven’t helped you.
